Job Summary: The General Laborer is responsible for supporting line operators, material handlers, quality and building maintenance with various tasks that help drive the success and efficiency of the operation. A successful General Laborer will have a high level of energy with a drive to help others in manufacturing processes. Job Duties: Assist line operators in start-up and shut down procedures along with filling in on operator breaks Perform packaging procedures that involves banding product Stack cans on pallet in a neat and orderly fashion using the proper pallets Organize and recycle cardboard and scrap Organize parts, supplies, tools and inventory Understand quality procedures and participate in sorting to identify potential defects as needed Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions. Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager Perform all other job duties as assigned Qualifications and Experience Requirements: Preferably one (1) year of prior experience working within a manufacturing setting The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness Previous experience operating a manual and electric pallet jack Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred Time management skills Possess excellent verbal communication skills Measuring skills using calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. Mechanical ability Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and push/pull products on pallet jack Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English BRINGING YOUR TRUE SELF TO WORK To reach our goals, we know we need colleagues at all levels who are truly diverse in every way.
