Rise Baking Company Production Supervisor- 3rd Shift in York, Pennsylvania

    Job Purpose

    Supervises Team Leads/Team Members in a manufacturing and assembly environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and safe working conditions.

    Essential Functions

  • Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies

  • Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Ensures production of quality product made in a safe working environment that meet or exceed efficiencies according to standards.

  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.

  • Reports and monitors departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.

  • Participates and assists with Quality Control programs to assure product quality.

  • Oversees effective Team Member relations. Responsible for Team Member coaching development, and accountability. Resolves Team Members issues through conflict resolution.

  • Continuously communicates with Leadership Team and Team Members.

  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, including GMP requirements.

  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

  • Confers with production manager and other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

  • Fully participates in all safety training and initiatives. Ensures Team Members adhere to all safety policies and practices, initiates/participates in incident investigations, and adheres to corrective action process when required.

  • Assists in internal audits to ensure compliance with IFS, OSHA, and AIB methods, policies, and procedures.

  • Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products

  • Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.

  • Back up for this position is other Production Supervisors and Production Manager

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Qualifications (Education/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Four to five years related (i.e. Bakery Industry) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Requires operational knowledge of computer software (EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS, AS400, E-mail, Internet applications, etc) or ability to learn these skills.

  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
