UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute at Memorial Hospital in York is currently looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to their team. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Heart and Vascular experience is helpful, but not a requirement of the position. In this position, you will join a great team environment and work in a beautiful, brand-new office with lots of natural sunlight and positive energy. Our providers are excellent to work for and they throw a massive independent Holiday Party for the team.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm with some flexibility as needed i.e 7:30am-4pm, 8am-4:30pm. Only 1 late shift per month (10:30am-7pm). NO WEEKENDS, NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS!

Responsibilities:

  • Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight, obtain past medical history and other demographics.

  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.

  • Complete EKG's as ordered

  • Assist with phone calls, triage/assess as needed

  • Check out patients- Schedule Cardiac/Vascular testing, procedures, and surgeries.

  • Place cardiac monitors as needed

  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

  • Work clinical encounters (in basket messages) in Epic.

  • Draw blood.

  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.

  • Comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.

  • 1-year clinical experience preferred, but NOT required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireClearances must be dated within 90 days

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
