DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Assistant Section 8 Coordinator assists in managing and operating the different Housing Choice Voucher Programs, and any additional housing programs assigned to the Section 8 Department, within the policies and regulations set forth by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Housing Authority.  This position assists in interview scheduling, interviewing, verification follow-up, and issuing of Certificates of Family Participation/Vouchers. Work also includes landlord/tenant relations and outreach. Join us for a rewarding opportunity to help people achieve the stability they need.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 37.5 hours per week with flexible schedule choices between a five-day work week or a four-day work week. Five-day shifts: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Four-day: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM three weekdays and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM one weekday. Choice of Friday or Monday off, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in performing tasks associated with the management of multi-family housing developments, or properties owned or administered by public housing agencies; OR two years of comparable business, industrial, or professional employment; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training; or One (1) year as a Management Aide.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within York County. If no eligible candidates who live within York County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
