Responsibilities

The Route Planner is responsible for effectively managing driver and customer relations through effective communication, planning and problem solving. This includes dispatching and shipping related tasks. The Route Planner is also a back up for Freight Manager and potential successor to position. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weeknights/weekends as required.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Creates a safe and inclusive work environment for drivers

Schedules orders to meet on-time delivery dates and customer needs

Confirms customer delivery times with correct address and contact information

Communicates driver routes in a timely manner to ensure work life balance/predictability

Builds executable loads and schedules delivery stops with safety in mind

Maximizes driver productivity, fleet asset utilization, and pounds shipped per load

Route efficiency through minimizing out of route miles

Partners with CSRs and Sales on expedited orders and regional fulfillment

Common carrier/UPS billing/RMAs management/TPA ship method communication

Driver trip envelopes/trip entry and driver log verification

BOL auditing and OTIFNE missed reason code validation

Backorder and future order management
