POSTION SUMMARYCVS Healthcare is looking for hands-on, passionate, driven people who want to join a high energy and growing team to make a difference in customers' lives and who want to be on the forefront of digital innovation that aims to reinvent what a pharmacy and a health care company can be in the digital world. This Staff Engineer will be a hands-on lead and a pivotal part of our Health Services organization which is comprised of numerous teams that support, enhance, and create new programs and services that support our suite of health services including Minute Clinic and Virtual Care. The development of these programs will help build our next-generation platform to ensure the delivery of use cases into products focusing on helping people live healthier lives. In this role and within this team, you will work on applications and products that are on the forefront of technology.In this role, you will:

  • You will demonstrate executive level qualities, lead the conversation, have an eye for great design, provide hands-on coding as required and have a proven track record of pushing projects from conception to customers

  • Act as an executive technical leader across strategic efforts, leveraging partners, technical leads, and technical expertise to better inform processes and outcomes

  • Provide knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution

  • Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing, and performing assigned tasks within deadlines

  • Will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability

  • Develop applications/web services and cloud native apps using Angular JS, Node JS, GCP, REST API and other tech stacks (Open source and proprietary)

  • Unit testing using framework such as Junit, Mockito, JBehave

  • Build and deploy services using GitHub, CircleCI, Harness as part of CI/CD process in leading Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure etc.

  • Continuously checking and monitoring App health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed

  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning meeting and establish face-to-face communication across all team and Product Owners

  • Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority.

  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Scrum, Reviews and Retrospectives

  • Be an advocate for and implementer of security best practices

  • Adopt and apply industry technology best practices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of functional experience of demonstrated excellence in an information systems environment

  • 7+ years of experience developing applications/web services and cloud native apps using Angular JS, Node JS

  • 5+ years of experience working with internet facing applications

  • 5+ years of hands-on development using Java/J2EE applications and using various Open source and proprietary frameworks - Spring, hibernate etc

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with agile development, SAFe Agile experienced preferred

  • Experience with GCP would be preferred

  • Exposure to service mesh platform, such as Istio, Consul, Kuma

  • Experience developing microservices and cloud native applications using Spring Boot

  • Experience designing and implementing Caching strategies using the in-memory datastores such as REDIS

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$124,372.50 - $247,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
