ThermoFisher Scientific Field Service Engineer - Pipette Device in Woburn, Massachusetts

Job Description

Administer and perform calibration/maintenance/minor repair on customer-owned pipette units for various customers in locations throughout the United States.

Create and maintain strong customer relationships via superior service in the field. When not in the field, the individual will assist in the service/calibration depot with maintenance, and calibration of customer-owned lab equipment.

A day in the Life:

  • Perform On-Site pipette calibration and preventative maintenance in accordance with IOS 17025 and ISO 8655 calibration standards.

  • Produce and distribute high quality Field Service Reports of work performed.

  • Work with equipment vendors to report quality issues and maintain technical knowledge of current and emerging pipette equipment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company.

  • Maintain and update CRM database.

  • Align with Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporate Travel and Expense Policies.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Field Service.

  • High proficiency in technical trouble shooting and repair.

  • Experience in customer relationship management.

  • Excellent computer skills including an understanding of Microsoft Office applications and Operating Systems (Windows, Word, Excel, and Access)

  • Ability to learn and use CRM applications.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to operate independently, with initiative, and good business judgment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Work environment includes but not limited to performing tasks within Thermo Fisher Depot, Lab, Cubicle, or various Customer Sites

  • Ability to travel overnight 65%+ annually and may include overnight travel up to 10 consecutive days. Position covers all USA.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from ground to desk height with assistance if needed.
