  • NW Works Van driver is responsible for the safe transportation of the individuals we serve. The van driver must be a punctual and reliable employee. This position is tasked with the transportation of individuals to and from 2 separate Government sites located in Front Royal, VA. This position requires to carry a caseload and provides job coaching services to the individuals staffing the AbilityOne worksites.

  • Perform visual vehicle inspection prior to departure.
  • Transport AbilityOne participant from their residence to their worksite.
  • Requires carrying a job coaching case load of approximately 10 hours a week.
  • Ensure the site supervisor is present before leaving any individuals.
  • Refueling vehicle.
  • Meet or exceed all DSP required training.
  • Maintains accurate time records and related documentation and submits paperwork by established deadlines.
  • Provides oversight, training, programming, and support with program participants as needed to include transportation, advocacy, skill building and general activities.
  • Monitors and documents productivity, engagement, and support needed to address goals outlined in the individuals specific person-centered plan.
  • Ensures that all individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and provided with ample opportunities to meet their individualized goals.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of NWW.
  • Represents agency standards for dress, grooming and demeanor.
  • Accepts and performs other duties as required.

Meets Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Supervisory Competencies.

Meets all the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Direct Support Professional Competencies as observed and documented by the Lead Direct Support Professional.

Knowledge of Medicaid Waiver Services, Workforce Innovations and Opportunities Act, and the Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Promotes self-advocacy and provides ongoing direct supervision of all individuals in the program, including their concerns and needs which will be handled in a timely, orderly, caring and safe manner with an emphasis on quality. Management will be made aware of problems and issues in a timely manner.

Participates in relevant and required training as assigned to meet licensing and accreditation mandates.
