The product engineer will report to the product manager and closely work with the product engineering group together with cross functional team that include R&D developers and quality assurance group. The product engineer’s role is to support the product through its life cycle by performing the following tasks:

  • Learn about the application field for the products through interaction with customers, other Siemens EDA engineers and industry peers, through independent literature research and by attending relevant technical conferences.

  • Understand how the product interacts within the application field to be able to communicate customer requirements to R&D.

  • Demonstrate product features to customers and collect feedback about product applicability and requirements.

  • Contribute to application development and functional validation of software solutions developed by the engineering team.

  • Develop test cases for the quality assurance group in their testing of user scenarios.

  • Filing enhancement and defect reports to address product gaps and defects; work with R&D to communicate requirements and test prospective solutions.

  • Provide applications engineer training and support for product deployment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field with 5+ years’ prior experience in Semiconductor wafer/mask process development and manufacture, and/or an EDA environment with an emphasis on Semi manufacturing software including GPU acceleration for computational lithography

  • UNIX/Linux operating systems is required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Some domestic or international travel is required

Additional qualifications in one or more areas listed below:

  • Engineer with background and recent experience in computational lithography and OPC verification in semiconductor manufacturing including advanced nodes

  • Engineer with background GPU for computational lithography

  • Understanding of the interaction of the IC design flow and the wafer manufacturing flow

  • Interest in software application development and machine learning methodologies

  • Network in the semiconductor manufacturing and supplier space.

  • C/C++, Python and Julia programming languages is a plus.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
