Confidential Employer SERVICE DEPARTMENT TECHNICIAN in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

A Williamsport Bowman Barber Supply Service Technician is responsible for repairing, reconditioning, and light assembly of barbering and grooming equipment on site.  In addition, the technician assists the customer service team in resolving customer questions, problems, or complaints regarding customer equipment and tools.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists sales associates with customers purchasing parts to repair their own equipment and supplying parts to fulfill online orders.
  • Supports and guides sales associates with describing work to be performed on work orders in complicated situations.
  • Diagnoses problems and figures out the best course of action to repair or replace equipment.
  • Completes repairs or adjustments to equipment, restoring it to working order for the customer.
  • Conduct light assembly of proprietary Latherking products to meet customer demand
  • Sustains a good working relationship with customers to maintain a positive image of the company and barbering and grooming brands the company represents.
  • Maintains a clean and organized service department with functional tools to perform work.
  • Follows company standards entering detailed technical notes and service fees when completing work orders.

     

KEY ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Utilizes excellent communication with customers, associates, managers, vendors, and the team at Williamsport Bowman Barber Supply.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional, courteous, and patient manner and is motivated to deliver the highest value of service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Williamsport Bowman Barber Supply brand.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service barbering and grooming equipment and tools.
  • Meticulous execution performing service work on all approved brands (Wahl, Andis, and Oster).
  • Conserves resources and is efficient in his/her use of time needed to fully complete each work order job.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity; amperage, voltage, and resistance, and ability to read basic equipment schematics.  Ability to understand, read, and utilize a multimeter.
  • Previous experience repairing barbering and grooming equipment and sharpening blades and shears; including battery-operated devices is preferred, but not required. 
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency for work order due dates.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced workplace environment where frequent interruptions occur.

     

OTHER DUTIES

  • Conduct monthly inventory cycle counts to maintain accurate parts inventory numbers and fully participate in the annual inventory process.
  • Participation in monthly team meetings to educate and enhance the team's knowledge about equipment and tools serviced in the repair department.
  • Help with special projects assigned by the Operations Manager or CEO.

     

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of experience in barbering and grooming equipment repair preferred.
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and reach.
  • Able to communicate via phone or in person and exchange accurate information.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to lift or maneuver 50 pounds.
  • High School diploma (GED equivalent) required.
  • Must have a valid ID.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening
