Insight Global CAD Technician in Westborough, Massachusetts

Job Description

A large robotics client is looking for a CAD Technician to support their Westborough, MA facility. This person will be joining the Deployment Engineering Support team, which focuses on the use of robots to automate processes in their warehouses nationwide.

This individual will be responsible for creating detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and material handling components based on current examples as well as design support for future initiatives. Drawings will require a high level of detail in both plan views as well as corresponding elevation views in certain cases. A successful candidate will be self-starter and will be able to work with very little direction and create drawing sets that will satisfy the need to standardize work spaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.

Responsibilities include:

* Supporting new technology development for Robotics

* Working on AutoCAD on Robotic Layout Designs

* Working on internal software similar to AutoCAD

* Simulations on internal platforms, 15-20% of the time per month

* Interacting with solution design engineers -- will work along side them

* Working with Deployment engineers

* Work with Hardware teams

Skills and Requirements

* 1-2+ years of CAD experience in Mechanical or engineering industry

* Experience designing and drafting with AutoCAD

* General engineering knowledge, manufacturing environment setup

* Associates Degree * Building design experience

* Experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment

* Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems

* Conveyor design and layout experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

* Ability to lead small groups null
