Welder/Fabricator

We are seeking an adept Welder/Fabricator with experience in metals fabrication, machining welding, or a related field, to participate in the construction of sanitary process skids, working on every aspect from inception to completion. This pivotal role demands proficiency in interpreting and comprehending P&ID and Isometric drawings, precise measurement of materials for exact cutting, meticulous assembly, and welding while adhering to stringent food-grade standards.

Position functions:

  • Adhere to the instructions provided by the Direct Supervisor for daily tasks and the scope of work.
  • Utilize drawings or directives from Manager to take accurate measurements.
  • Employ precise cutting and grinding techniques to shape steel according to specifications.
  • Ensure the accurate fitting and placement of materials in alignment with defined specifications.
  • Execute welding tasks proficiently, encompassing stainless steel framing, piping, and sanitary tubing.
  • Enhance the quality of welds and maintain product cleanliness through meticulous polishing.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and hours worked.
  • Utilize various shop tools such as drills, bandsaws, and grinders with proficiency and care.
  • Engage in routine safety meetings and strictly adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards by ensuring the work area remains free of debris.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and courteous communication when interacting with customers.

*Requirements: *High school diploma or equivalent.

*Experience: *3-5 years of proven experience in metals fabrication, machining welding or a related field preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Tig welding -- Sanitary welding.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard welding codes and procedures.
  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and instrumentation symbols.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise during fabrication.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks without constant supervision.
  • Certification in welding from a recognized institution or organization, an asset.
  • Prior experience working in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or food production, an asset.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing principles and practices, an asset.

Travel : up to 20% required
