What to expect as a Nurse at Saint Mary Home

A Nurse at Saint Mary's Home is an active participant in care and leads the interdisciplinary care team to assure that individual resident’s needs are met, and choices honored. The Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe, quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. The LPN/RN is also a member of a designated care team and collaborates with team members in achieving goals. The LPN/RN directs and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants assigned to his/her unit.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  1. Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  2. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of CT.

  3. Recent clinical experience in either long-term care, acute care or home care is desired.

  4. Excellent skilled observation and teamwork skills are required. Understanding of MDS and Care Planning is preferred in skilled nursing facilities.

  5. Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  6. Current CPR certification is required.
