About Us: The Heart Care Unit is a fast pace cardiac/telemetry intermediate care unit. We treat patients with a variety of cardiac issues including, but not limited to: heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, open heart surgery, cardiac procedures, stroke, and a variety of other medical conditions. All of our nursing staff is ACLS, telemetry, and NIHSS certified. We are a team consisting of RNs, CNAs, HUCs, and telemetry techs who work together, collaboratively, to provide exceptional patient care. What You Will Do: Under thesupervision ofthe registered nurse, the Nurse Intern willassist thenursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. What You Will Need: Be a nursing studenthaving completed a minimum of one - 16 hour clinical rotation in an RN program. Be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Current employees must have an overallhighly valued rating on their last performance review. Be available for New Employee Welcome (NEW)and participate in Clinical team Orientation (CTO). Must have a strong interest in customer service, able to multi task, work independently with littlesupervision. Passionate about providing excellent patient care and able to demonstrate compassion at the end of life.
