TITLE: New Vision/Medical Careers Instructor LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment at Carthage Area Hospital, Carthage, New York / Bohlen Technical Center, Watertown, New York RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide instruction exploring careers in the health career cluster for 12th graders. Duties include: Collaborating with colleagues to integrate academics, literacy, and technology with high school health careers Preparing students for continued education for careers in the healthcare industry Networking with hospital and medical staff to establish and monitor student rotations in the various departments Meeting / planning with local industry advisory committee for continuous improvement of the program QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess NYS Certification in one of the Health Occupations; Dual Certification in an academic area preferred or eligibility for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests. SALARY: $52,249-$59,314. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association.
