Our Client is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machine Setup/Operator Level 3 to join their team in Plymouth, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machining centers to perform various machine functions on metallic workpieces such as castings, forgings, and bar stock.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
• Program CNC machines by entering instructions and setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Set up CNC machines by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, chucks, and other components.
• Verify machine settings and part dimensions by measuring positions and sample workpieces.
• Maintain machine specifications by observing and troubleshooting machining operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions as needed.
• Maintain communication and documentation of work activities and machine performance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements through participation in educational opportunities and technical publications.
• Contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of tasks and seeking opportunities for process improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong conceptual skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to improve processes and effectively communicate verbally.
• Proficiency in functional and technical skills related to CNC machining.
• Familiarity with controls and instrumentation.
• Experience in supply management, tooling, and inventory control.
• Ability to coordinate tasks and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
