Senior Programmer Analyst, Insight Analytics

The Senior Programmer Analyst will be a key member of the Insight Analytics team within EAB Seramount, reporting to the Director. We seek a teammate with excellent programming and analytical skills, relationship building skills, professionalism, and an ambition to innovate, develop, and implement processes that improve efficiency and productivity. This role combines extraordinary programming, data processing and reporting skills with the opportunity to do high-impact work for Seramount’s Best Companies research initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a top-notch programmer and analyst, detailed planner, and expert communicator who is committed to the discovery, development, and delivery of innovative solutions that provide automated, customizable analytical reports to our growing customer base.
This hire may be based in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA; this position is also open to remote employment within the continental United States.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, program, and document processes and systems that automate data cleaning, manipulating, analysis, and reporting procedures to promote increased efficiency and productivity within Seramount’s Best Companies research initiatives
Serve as a thought leader to identify new opportunities to improve and automate the processes of data cleaning, manipulating, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on quality assurance
Partner with stakeholders across business units to provide data and/or perform basic data analysis as needed, communicating effectively with management and other business units
Provide general assistance to the Insights Analytics team, as needed
Design complex and highly visible stakeholder deliverables
Support the creation of a data warehouse to query data and generate custom datasets across multiple data sources
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, with an excellent academic record
3+ years of professional post-degree work experience, including computer programming experience
Proven quantitative skills, with knowledge of statistics, data structures, and programming to clean, manipulate, analyze, and report data
Experience generating process documentation and reports
Ability to perform quality assurance of your own work, and on the work of others (e.g., debugging code, ensuring accuracy of results, reviewing deliverables to confirm the desired level of quality is met)
Excellent attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience executing projects and analyses based on larger datasets
Proficiency using analytic tools or programs with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new analytical tools or programs
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate and disseminate complex information appropriate for various audiences
Comfortable working in a variety of team environments while taking ownership and lead on major projects. Ability to work collaboratively with internal customers, one-on-one, in large groups, or individually with minimal supervision.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, data driven, metrics-oriented environment

Ideal Qualifications:
A graduate-level degree which emphasizes programming skills (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science/Data Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics or a related technical field)
Advanced skill with a programming language, preferably Python
Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with VBA highly desirable
Advanced skill developing dynamic reports using data visualization software, preferably Tableau
Experience using a statistical software program, such as R
Experience working with data warehouses, preferably using SQL for querying data
Experience with project management software, such as Asana

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $62,500 to $90,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
