Position Summary:

Serve as Director to the Brazil-U.S. Business Council within the Americas Department in all aspects regarding policy advocacy and programs to promote and expand the U.S.-Brazil trade and investment relationship. Manage the Council’s advocacy efforts through policy dialogues, regulatory submissions, member engagement, program execution, and strategic communications. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and a wide range of companies, business associations, and government agencies in the U.S. and Brazil.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage policy program and development and implementation to advance U.S.-Brazil economic ties.

  • Develop and execute policy advocacy, initiatives, and programs for the Brazil-U.S. Business Council through policy dialogues, Council working groups, public consultations, and other activities.

  • Provide intelligence updates on political and economic developments and track relevant legislation and regulations.

  • Prepare written communications, including press releases, blog posts, memos, policy documents, and reports for member distribution.

  • Prepare executive correspondence and briefing materials.

  • Manage the recruitment of new members, cultivate relationships with existing members, and respond to member inquiries.

  • Plan and carry out business delegations to Brazil and other policy-related events.

  • Support various Americas Department activities when necessary.

    Requirements:

  • Law degree or master’s degree in business administration, public policy, or international relations.

  • 7-10 years of experience in international trade and investment.

  • Familiarity with the U.S. business community operating in the Brazilian marketplace.

  • Ability to interact with internal and external senior-level executives and government officials.

  • A demonstrated understanding of Brazilian culture and political processes.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills in English and Portuguese.

  • Fluency in Portuguese and cultural competency working with Brazilian stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel to Brazil.

  • Excellent public relations and interpersonal skills.

  • Fundraising or business development experience a plus.
