Position Summary:

The Material Planning Manager is responsible for analyzing, planning and managing the flow of materials to ensure they are provided according to schedule. The Material Planning Manager develops and implements strategies to keep inventory at a minimum without compromising customer expectations.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

• This position will report to the Division Supply Chain Manager

• This role will manage one Material Planner for our Buy/Resale business.

• Approximately 60% of this role is commodity/supplier management for spend with other Parker divisions.

• Majority of the balance of role is support and backup for Buy/Sell Planning for AA, 3F, F6 locations.

• The position will be based in Richland, MI or Wadsworth, OH depending on the candidate.

Essential Functions:

• Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Monthly forecasting: inventory, LISC, LBL, shipment $ for AA, 3F, F6 locations.

• Commodity/supplier management for non-Parker Buy/Sell suppliers.

• Manages materials, changing business activity, quality of materials and stocking levels. Works closely with procurement to ensure reorder processes and timely delivery of materials are in place.

• Administers the development and implementation of an aggressive inventory reduction program limiting the division exposure to excess inventory cost. Adjust inventory levels associated with any backlog production.

• Analyzes production requirements based on immediate sales orders and short/medium term forecast considering production resources (people, materials, equipment).

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain, inventory and/or production control.

• 4year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management preferred.

• Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.

• Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.

• Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices.
