Job Summary
The Sourcing Manager II leads the regional Sourcing effort related to driving competitive advantage and cost savings. Ensures the management of leveraged agreements, key supplier and customer relationships, and the effective execution of commodity planning and management with the assigned Region. Successfully implements, executes, and complies with the regional procurement and commodity/spend category strategies, contracts, processes, and policies. Leads the regional Sourcing team to focus on performing these functions for all identified Regional leverage opportunities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop subregion Sourcing teams of Project Procurement Managers (PPM’s) and Buyers. Ensure compliance to Sourcing policies
Become an extended part of Service Director’s staff – attend staff meetings and other updates, understand subregion issues and opportunities, become a trusted advisor and problem solver. Develop strong working relationships with SD staff
Implement and drive Daily Management tools and Leader Standard Work
Lead subregion Sourcing updates
Manage safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash metrics for subregion and ensure team is delivering to targets
Develop and implement regional commodity strategies for assigned commodities. Distribute to other subregion teams and ensure strategies are communicated to the Events team. Ensure other Sourcing Manager strategies are implemented in your subregion, i.e. primary and secondary supplier by state/region
Understand subregion specific market conditions and ensure strategies are developed to address. Partner with other Sourcing Managers to incorporate into overall regional commodity strategy
Lead outage forecasting activities for assigned commodities and/or subregions
Create and utilize RFQ templates and other standard documents/templates to support commodity strategy. Distribute to subregion teams, PPM’s, and Buyers
Implement long-term agreements with strategic suppliers (MSA’s, SOW’s, etc.) utilizing FieldCore templates. Ensure compliance to negotiated agreements. Suggest improvements to standard contract language
Deliver cash though supplier payment term improvement (DTP) for assigned commodities. Understand MUFG program and utilize as appropriate
Drive cost out initiatives and ensure the team is meeting cost targets. Create a sustainable backlog of cost out projects. Ensure Reduce is updated
Support NCR and claims processes as needed. Ensure NCR data is utilized in commodity strategies and supplier selection
Ensure all suppliers utilized in subregion are ComplyWorks and Technically qualified. Manage PPM’s and Buyers to ensure compliance. Provide guidance to Supplier Quality and EHS as needed
Drive supplier development initiatives and lead projects in collaboration with other functions (i.e. Productivity, Value Stream, etc.)
Manage supplier relationships in assigned commodities. Lead/join escalation discussions as necessary
Attend and be a strong contributor during 3M, ORR, and POR reviews. Ensure appropriate sourcing strategies are being utilized, SOW’s received, new supplier needs identified, all PR’s entered, suppliers onboarded, final scopes provided to suppliers, understand cost overruns, gather feedback on supplier safety, quality, and performance, record lessons learned, and adjust sourcing strategy as needed
Drive lean workouts to improve Sourcing capabilities in region/sub-region. Drive continuous improvement in Sourcing processes
Travel required
May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or similar related area, or equivalent
8+ years sourcing and supply purchasing experience at a professional level, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years managing and developing employees
An additional four years of applicable experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
Experience with supplier management, contracting and negotiations required
English proficiency required
Desired Characteristics:
Previous staff management and global experience is preferred
Solid analytical skills and strong results-oriented aptitude
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Membership in ISM (NAPM), with professional certification as a CPM preferred
Knowledge of ecommerce, supply chain management, and ERP system technology as they evolve
Ability to focus on satisfying internal customer requirements and obtaining and responding to internal customer feedback
Demonstrated project management, self-initiative, and decision-making skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills
Skillful in establishing and maintaining working relationships with departments and suppliers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and with time constraints
Demonstrated success with cost reductions
Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $101,700 to $167,700. This is an exempt from overtime position. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
