Procurement Data Administrator

Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position

The University of Maine System is accepting applications for a Procurement Data Administrator in Strategic Procurement. The Procurement Data Administrator is responsible for managing the University’s Supplier Database, including collection, compilation, analysis, and maintenance of information relevant to Supplier Data for the Purchasing and Accounts Payables Financial System. The Supplier Database supports purchasing and accounts payable transactions which drive encumbrance and liquidation transactions in the University’s General Ledger. Additionally this database is used for supplier-related IRS and federal grant reporting and strategic planning initatives. This position is responsible for coordinating all activities related to the database, and for providing direction to campuses and suppliers in order to ensure data integrity and end-user satisfaction, thereby affording efficiencies, cost savings, and revenue for the Institution. Provides end-user support and assists with system adminstration of the University’s eProcurement system. Develops reports to monitor eProcurement system performance and ROI. Oversees electronic vendor payment signup and maintenance. This work requires considerable organization, judgment, decision making, initiative and excellent oral and written communication skills.

UMS Strategic Procurement supports fully remote/work-from-home employees and is not dependent upon a specific physical location. At this time, we are unable to offer Visa sponsorship.

The normal hiring range for this position is low $50's, depending on skills and experience plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Qualifications:

Required:

  • An associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum five years’ experience leading Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) in a non-profit and/or higher education organization of equivalent complexity as the University Maine System.

  • Demonstrative proficiency with ERP, eProcurement systems, and Sourcing Software.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    Preferred:

  • Experience with MS Word and Access.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and SciQuest eProcurement systems.

  • Project management and new information system implementation experience.
