What We Want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research in solid-state chemistry with an emphasis on magnetic materials. The selected candidate will also be responsible for writing manuscripts, developing research proposals, and helping with graduate student mentoring and group organization. What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Schedule: May require working evening and/or weekend hours.

Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Contributes to team effort by working effectively with all individuals

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in solid-state chemistry, inorganic chemistry or condensed matter physics

  • Graduate student research work experience

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Conduct research in solid-state chemistry.

  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings, prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations and grant proposals. Make presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues.

  • Laboratory Development and Maintenance: Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement. Keep up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members, act as a mentor to students. Maintain laboratory instrumentation, follow applicable safety standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
