PURPOSE

• This Post-Doctoral position will be part of the Ecosystem Science and Modeling Laboratory of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

  DESCRIPTION

  RESEARCH

• Join field and lab-based experiment, perform data collection and interpretation for a newly funded NSF project that studies alkalinity cycle in coastal environment under different hydrological conditions.

• Present research results at public meetings and national/international meetings.

• Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed national/international journals.

• Collaborate with other members of the lab group, and mentor undergraduate/early career graduate students in the lab.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

  WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Doctoral degree by the time of hire in marine chemistry or a related field.

• Experience in seawater carbonate chemistry studies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience communicating scientific findings to a broad audience.

  WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE

• Experience in sediment geochemical analysis.

• Experience with numerical and statistical modeling of natural systems.

• Working knowledge in programming languages such as MatLab, R or Python.

• Experience with project management and ability to meet project goals in a timely manner.
