Qualifications

Required Education:

Ph.D. in biological related sciences.

Required Experience:

Some research experience in biomedical sciences.

Preferred Education:

N/A

Preferred Experience:

Experiences in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Cell Biology, Lipid Biology and yeast genetics.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic knowledge in molecular biology, cell imaging, biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology.

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Molecular cloning, confocal imaging, yeast genetics, protein expression and purification, protein structural determination by various methods crystallography, and/or cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM).

Position contingent on availability of grant funding

Job Responsibilities

75%: Perform research project directed by Dr. Xuewu Sui. Creatively conceives the studies, critically designs experiments, and analyze the data. Discuss the results with the PI on a regular basis. Monthly report the research progress and plan the research.

10%: Prepare and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Present the research progress in the lab meeting and department seminar, and attend national and international meetings to present the research results.

5%: Be responsible for training personnel on common equipment.Maintain the lab safety and training protocols.

5%: Be responsible for making sure the annual safety trainings are completed. Assist lab members to maintain lab logistics.

5%: Performs other duties as assigned.
