Environmental Compliance Project Coordinator- Temporary

POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides natural resources planning, field survey, permitting, and engineering services to clients worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Compliance Project Coordinator with technical writing, and natural resource project logistics and coordination experience for temporary employment in support of our Rocky Mountain Biology Department.

The position would be devoted to the successful completion of the NV Energy Greenlink West Transmission Project. The incumbent will begin with the construction team located in Las Vegas, NV and will be expected to shift work location with the team as construction progresses north toward Reno, NV.

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary focus for this Environmental Compliance Project Coordinator role will be to assist the Environmental Compliance Monitor Manager (ECMM) and Lead Compliance Monitor (LCM) with compliance of permits and applicable project requirements specific to the NV Energy Greenlink West Transmission Project.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Assist the LCM with Coordination of daily environmental compliance activities and monitoring duties as needed

  • Act as a backup for LCM as needed, scheduling monitoring activities in coordination with construction

  • Assist with weekly, quarterly and annual monitoring report preparation as requested

  • Assist in developing resolutions to environmental compliance issues as requested

  • Ensure follow-up and resolution of noncompliance issues are documented

  • Participate in construction meetings, as requested

  • Review and approve daily monitoring reports, as requested

  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, planners, permitting and environmental specialists

  • Assisting in effective team collaboration with internal and external teams through project execution

  • Assisting Field Leads and the LCM with coordination of staff, schedules, and operational needs

  • Performing natural resources field surveys or compliance inspections as needed

Required Education/Experience

  • B.A. or M.S. in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field of study preferred

  • Successfully coordinating multiple field crews at one time

  • Five (5) + years in the consulting business with construction compliance experience

  • Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, and managing expectations

  • Ability and confidence when using various organization and management tools such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet, One Note, and Excel

  • Ability to work on-site with the Project team as construction progresses from the Las Vegas area to the Reno area

Base Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
