Until Filled (EST) | USA | Salary | Full Time Torden is seeking a qualified Swahili linguist for immediate fill on US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay (GTMO).Requirements:

• Interpretation and Translation Proficiency in Swahili and preferably Arabic or Somali

• Speaking, listening, reading comprehension ILR must meet 3 minimum in Swahili plus Somali or Arabic and 3 in English

• Additional skill in Somali or Arabic is a plus, but not required

• Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation

• Must have typing and computer skills

• Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team

• Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.

• Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers

• Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.

• Due to location of assignment, must meet medical and dental screening requirements as well as immunizations up to date

• Individuals with an active SECRET security clearance and current polygraph

• All candidates must have a valid U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening (within 2 years) and valid CI polygraph (within 5 years) for consideration
