The University of Southern California Department of Population and Public Health Sciences (DPPHS) Health Behavior Research Division invites applications for an open-rank faculty position. We seek a faculty member with expertise in tobacco regulatory science and tobacco-related social media analytics to join the Health Behavior Research Division of DPPHS and contribute to USC’s research and teaching mission. We are interested in outstanding applicants from all areas of public health, although we especially encourage applications from those with expertise in tobacco regulatory science, quantitative and qualitative analysis of social media posts, and associations between social media exposure and tobacco use among adolescents and young adults. Expectations include taking collaborative and leadership roles in scientific manuscripts, grant applications, multi-investigator scientific teams, contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and mentoring postdoctoral, doctoral, masters, and undergraduate trainees. The candidate will also have the opportunity to teach undergraduate or graduate courses within DPPHS. This multi-disciplinary department of behavioral scientists, epidemiologists, environmental health scientists, and biostatisticians has a long history of conducting innovative externally funded research and currently holds active research centers on tobacco, obesity, and other public health issues. The candidate will also become a member of the USC Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS). The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000-$145,00.
