As an Application Modernization Architect, you will be responsible for coordinating the D3 MF Track1 project, ensuring the quality of deliverables for the applications migrated and the cloud environment deployed/configured as expected. This involves advising on best practices and methodologies for mainframe application modernization and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of modernized workloads.

Who You Are

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the D3 MF Track1 project, ensuring the quality of deliverables for the applications migrated and the cloud environment deployed/configured as expected.

  • Advise on best practices and methodologies for mainframe application modernization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of modernized workloads.

  • Lead the migration of IBM Sterling to a cloud IaaS platform and define and implement Cloud Batch processes under the workload scheduler defined for the cloud environment.

  • Work closely with the BCP application team and D3 MF Track1 team to perform the Azure Cloud Environment deployment and setup, including AVS, AKS, Microservices, and other software.

  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality of cloud-based solutions.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for cloud deployment projects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cloud batch processes and integration platforms.

Required Skills and Experience:

You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important – you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development.   • Extensive experience in mainframe modernization projects, with a focus on using a Mainframe Modernization tool that converts legacy mainframe workloads to Java, including application code, dependencies, and infrastructure, into modern workloads for the cloud. Preferred BASE100 tool.

  • Strong background in legacy mainframe technologies (e.g., COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, Online, Batch, JCL, z/OS, TSO/ISPF), Workload Scheduler (CA ESP), and Endevor SCM (Source Code Manager).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with BASE100 tool
