Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative Healthcare company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate for this Staff Accountant position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This Virginia Beach, Virginia area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. We're looking for people who are detail-oriented and analytical thinkers with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Major responsibilities

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

• Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

• Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  Requirements - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Experience with ERP systems

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

• Strong familiarity with general ledger

• Foundational knowledge in reconciliations

• Microsoft Excel experience desired

• Knowledge of Accounting operations
