General Description:**

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for space missions and satellite platforms. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering principles, along with specialized knowledge of space environment considerations, power distribution, and electronic components. The Senior Electrical Engineer will contribute to the advancement of space exploration by ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical systems in the demanding conditions of space.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for spacecraft and satellite missions, including power generation, distribution, and management. Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications for space hardware, ensuring compliance with mission requirements and industry standards. Conduct performance analyses, simulations, and testing to verify the functionality, reliability, and efficiency of electrical subsystems in space environments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into overall spacecraft architectures, coordinating with mechanical, thermal, and software engineers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, overseeing their work and ensuring adherence to best practices and design standards. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to address electrical challenges and optimize system performance. Support manufacturing, assembly, and testing activities for electrical hardware, liaising with external vendors and contractors as needed to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.

Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on space systems or aerospace applications. Proven track record of leading successful electrical design projects for space hardware, from concept to delivery. Experience with electrical design software tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, or similar) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).

Educational Requirements (or equivalent):

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred. Additional coursework or training in space systems engineering, power electronics, or related disciplines is advantageous

Working Conditions:

This work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment. Essential Skills/Experience:

Proficiency in electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power electronics, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Strong understanding of space environment effects on electrical systems, including radiation effects, thermal cycling, and vacuum conditions. Experience with power system design, including solar arrays, batteries, power converters, and distribution networks. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues in space systems.

Beneficial Skills/Experience:

Familiarity with spacecraft communication systems, RF design, and digital signal processing. Experience with FPGA programming, embedded systems development, and real-time operating systems. Knowledge of space-qualified components, including radiation-hardened electronics and space-grade materials. Background in reliability engineering and failure analysis methodologies for electrical hardware.
