We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Specialist to collaborate on cutting-edge projects involving the US Navy's combatant systems design, to join our Advance Electronic Systems (AES) team in Virginia Beach, VA. The position is to be worked on location. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Strong knowledge of Information Technology (IT) policy and compliance methodology 

  • Demonstrated skills in performing process/control walk through and control testing, and creating procedure narratives and flowcharts 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and organization skills 

  • Trouble-shoots and repairs IT systems and related components, (software & hardware).

  • Evaluates IT hardware and software used by activities. Works with users to test and evaluate a variety of software packages. Resolves problems to the extent possible before referring more difficult problems to appropriate levels. Applies appropriate security measures consistent with approved security standards.

  • Provides support and guidance on installing, and operating personal computers, peripheral equipment, and associated software. Supports users on equipment and software; custom installation and maintenance of hardware and software; investigating and resolving problems arising in the user operation of equipment/systems. Receives, responds to, and ensures resolution of all types of help center calls.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of two (2) years experience OR eight (8) years of relevant experience and industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency in leu of degree

Clearance Requirements:

  • Current and Active Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
