Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels. This includes performing audits, physically counting product locations, and ensuring the integrity of inventory data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records. This involves physically counting products in various locations within the warehouse.

  • Execute cycle counts to ensure ongoing accuracy of inventory levels. This helps in identifying discrepancies early and maintaining inventory integrity.

  • Investigate and report any discrepancies found during audits or cycle counts. This includes identifying the root causes of discrepancies and documenting findings.

  • Analyze the reasons behind inventory discrepancies and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

  • Prepare and comprehend reports generated from the SAP system to manage and track inventory data effectively.

  • Use radio frequency (RF) handheld or truck-mounted scanning devices to verify inventory quantities and locations. This ensures real-time updates to the inventory management system.

  • Safely operate motorized industrial equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and organize inventory within the warehouse.

  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in inventory management tasks.

  • Participate in regular department meetings to discuss inventory issues, process improvements, and project updates.

  • Collaborate with other departments on projects aimed at improving inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Ensure timely, regular, and dependable attendance to support inventory operations and meet departmental goals.

  • Be willing to work overtime as required to meet inventory demands and deadlines.
