The Oregon and Washington offices provide consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors. Responsibilities Business Development: Recognizes, initiates, and advances business development opportunities. Works closely with Marketing on business development opportunities. Participates in project meetings, public hearings, client events, and interview presentations for new projects. Independently develops and maintains client relationships and generates new revenue. Reviews proposals on prospective projects. Develops relationships with new clients. Technical: Thoroughly understands and applies standard industry methods, techniques, practices, programs, and standards. Manages and/or solves complex technical problems and mentors the PM and Associate group on problem resolution. Familiar with all applicable federal, state and legal laws, regulations, and guidance pertaining to discipline specific work. Develops QA/QC programs and procedures. Reviews and updates industry-related field methodologies. Familiar with industry-related software. Project/Task Management: Provides final technical review of project correspondence and deliverables. Oversee management of large-scale complex projects. Oversee management of project scope of services. Ensure proper management of project schedules and deadlines. Directs project employees. Oversees management of project QA/QC. Financial: Continuously monitors project budget and profitability to achieve goals. Monitors and understands group financial reports. Manages project WIP and AR to ensure timely billing and collections. Professional Development: Participating member of professional organizations/associations. Participates in internal brownbag presentations, occasionally as the presenter. Reads professional publications. Occasionally attends professional seminars. Communication: Timely and appropriately communicates to project employees, subcontractors, and clients. Conducts project specific briefings with project team. Embodies company values of open, direct and honest communication, and mentors group in this area. Leadership/Supervisory: Mentors project managers and associates to develop their skills.
