Description of Work

NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A $2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act.

The Health Care Technician II will participate in the delivery of health services for the offender population in accordance with the NC Nurse Practice Act and Department of Adult Correction Institution of Health Services Policy and Procedure. The Health Care Technician II will be responsible for all aspects of medication administration to include transcribing orders, ordering and storing medications and supplies, administering medication and treatments, documentation of medication administration and treatment, observing and reporting medication effectiveness, side effects and reinforcing patient education provided by the nurse and/or physician. The Health Care Technician II will provide additional nursing skills, as declared by the licensure. The Health Care Technician II must successfully complete the Medication Technician course and competency evaluation mandated by the Department of Adult Correction once employed.

This is a statewide job posting with a variation of shift assignments according to facility; therefore, the availability of specific shifts will be discussed during the interview process.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits{tabindex="0"}.
