JOB REQUIREMENTS: Weekend Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at WVHUG provide direct and indirect patient care, following standards set by the American Nurses Association; gerontological nursing practice; federal, state and Veterans Administration regulations; and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of this agency. Job duties include providing care per a written care plan to help meet the needs of WVHUG members, including care to help maintain the demented member at the highest functional level. CNAs work as an integral part of the health care team, under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by a Nursing Supervisor. Weekend CNAs work a set shift pattern on Sunday, Friday, and Saturday, minimally working 24 to 36 hours a week. These positions are scheduled up to 12 hours per shift. Core Shift Available PM 2nd Shift - 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
