Job Description

The Senior Integration Developer’s role is to develop and support processes that integrate NGL’s operational and corporate systems with each other and various other on prem and cloud systems. These processes are created utilizing the Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services platform and other appropriate peripheral technologies such as SQL, C#, Power Shell and others. This individual will also apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues that arise from the daily operation of high demand, high volume integration processing. The Senior Integration Developer is expected to take a lead role in requirements gathering, design and development tasks and mentor junior level developers.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements to gain an understanding of business needs, to develop level of effort estimates, software design and development, unit testing, perform design and code reviews, and development of technical documentation associated with the supported systems.

  • Proactively manage activities to deliver required work on time

  • Capable of coaching others in the applications team by translating complex nuances relating to this competency into easy to understand terms

  • Provide guidance for process and product improvements across applications

  • Perform system analyses, code modifications, and functional testing to troubleshoot application production issues

  • Leads the development and review of business and system requirements to obtain a thorough understanding of business needs in order to deliver robust solutions.

  • Provide development activities level of effort and duration estimates for schedule planning.

  • Work closely with IT management, developers and other members of the project team to implement new processes, systems and solutions.

  • Design application solutions that fully implement business requirements.

  • Develop high quality software code in accordance with established company standards and development guidelines.

  • Produce technical documentation that accurately and thoroughly depicts the software design and code base. The documentation needs to sufficiently assist QA testing and production support activities.

  • Perform adequate unit testing of own and other developers’ application development work. At a minimum, unit testing should ensure all requirements have been addressed, all basic functionality works, and errors are handled properly.

  • Expeditiously troubleshoot application production issues that resolve the issues without causing additional problems.

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

  • Provide updates on work in progress, work completed, work planned, and issues potentially impacting the timely completion or quality level of work.

  • Perform systems analysis and functional testing as needed.

  • Complete project responsibilities including design, coding, unit testing, and documentation on time at required quality level. Performance will be measured by timely completion, quality, and quantity of work delivered. All schedule dates should be met except for approved date changes by appropriate manager.

  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and system testing as needed for other developers’ efforts. At a minimum, code reviews, unit testing, and system testing should ensure all requirements have been addressed, all basic functionality works, and errors are handled properly.

  • Support all current applications, as well as take lead in new application development initiatives to rewrite older applications in newer technologies.

  • Provide timely support of operational processes as needed. Performance will be measured by the ability to independently support operations to minimize business disruptions.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s support tools and procedures

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)-related application portfolio

  • Continue to deepen knowledge of the Informatica platform and peripheral technologies to continue to stabilize, tune, improve and modernize integration processes.

  • This role reports to the IT Applications Director.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or a bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience is required.

  • 5 plus years of experience in Integrations Developer role, preferably in the Energy industry.

  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products.

  • Ability to quickly master new technologies as needed.

  • Experience developing and supporting data integrations using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services or other enterprise level cloud-based integration platform. Experience with Data Integration and Application Integration services within the IICS platform a big plus.

  • Experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP integration processes, particularly in high volume, high demand environments.

  • Experience developing integrations into Oracle Cloud ERP and Cloud EPM via the REST and SOAP API layer is a big plus.

  • Strong experience developing SQL Server database stored procedures, SQL queries, tuning and SSRS or Power BI report development desired.

  • Experience in the oil & gas energy sector is a big plus.
