Responsibilities
Manages experienced professionals (e.g., engineers, scientists, financial analysts) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
Often heads one or more sections or a small department
Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units
Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives
Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
Interacts with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels
Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives
Interaction typically concerns the resolution of operational and scheduling issues
Frequent interactions with the customer.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. ABET accreditation is preferred, although not a required accreditation standard.
5+ years’ experience in an engineering or technical role within the aerospace industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of management and/or technical leadership experience
Excellent interpersonal skills working cross-functionally across teams
Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly
Strong leadership skills & the ability to motivate and hold people accountable
Keen eye for detail and a focus on continuous process improvement
Exceptional time management skills
Demonstrated knowledge with regard to the assembly and repair of aircraft hardware and sub-component assembly.
Familiarity with metallic bonding as well as advanced composite processing and assembly.
