Responsibilities

  • Manages experienced professionals (e.g., engineers, scientists, financial analysts) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments

  • Often heads one or more sections or a small department

  • Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units

  • Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives

  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives

  • Interacts with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels

  • Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives

  • Interaction typically concerns the resolution of operational and scheduling issues

  • Frequent interactions with the customer.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. ABET accreditation is preferred, although not a required accreditation standard.

  • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering or technical role within the aerospace industry.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of management and/or technical leadership experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills working cross-functionally across teams

  • Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly

  • Strong leadership skills & the ability to motivate and hold people accountable

  • Keen eye for detail and a focus on continuous process improvement

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge with regard to the assembly and repair of aircraft hardware and sub-component assembly.

  • Familiarity with metallic bonding as well as advanced composite processing and assembly.
