Position Summary

This position will be responsible for keeping employee commons areas in clean and orderly condition, including restrooms. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Service, clean, and sanitize the employee entryway, breakroom, kitchen, restrooms, and associated equipment.

• Clean and sanitize both breakroom and restroom floors by sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing them.

• Sweep or vacuum area floor mats.

• Clean and sanitize glass doors, door handles, and mirrors.

• Gather and empty trash.

• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; clean and sanitize as appropriate.

• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Pay rate: $17.50 per hour ($15.00 + $2.50 shift differential)

Open shift is 12 hour schedule 7 pm - 7 am on a two week rotation (Week 1 = work Mon/Tues, off Wed/Thurs, work, Fri/Sat/Sun; Week 2 = off Mon/Tues, work Wed/Thurs, off Fri/Sat/Sun)

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes, and vision protection required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

This role routinely uses standard cleaning equipment. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Capable of lifting or moving up to 50lbs for short time periods.

Background of janitorial cleaning and knowledge of sanitary supplies preferred.

Good verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and guidance.
