Level Descriptions:

• Level I – Must be able to achieve many objectives of this position. Requires some amount of timely supervision to ensure the proper tasks are being accomplished and that communication is adequate, timely, in the correct manner (i.e. verbal, written, email, etc.)

• Level II - Consistently achieves all of the objectives of this position. This individual also provides mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level 1 positions.

• Senior - Highly experienced in the position. Has advanced skills at laying out and managing others. Has a good understanding of the hardware associated with controls and/or special systems equipment. Understands basic theory behind building systems operations and can assist in troubleshooting both installation and operation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Interpret Climatec’s and other’s installation drawings to productively install low voltage products and/or special building system installations.

• Install conduit and wire for low voltage products and/or special building systems.

• Accurately terminate low voltage wiring for Fire Alarm Systems, Security Systems and/or special building systems.

• Support installation personnel on project sites.

• Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.

• Assist as required troubleshooting efforts for low voltage system start up and commissioning of special systems. (Access Control, Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV)

• Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the low voltage systems or special systems operation.

• Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, and installation for building systems.

• Provide documentation including daily logs, etc. as required for assigned projects.

• Assist in preparing of As-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

• Provide up to date As-built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database, code, etc.

• Level II and Senior Field Installers inspect work done by other Climatec employees or subcontractors to ensure all of our work is per code and meets acceptable levels of craftsmanship.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of high school diploma.

• Minimum of 2 years of low voltage installation such as Access Control, Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV, or special systems.

• Understanding of basic computer operation.

• Ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, etc.

• Ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical, low voltage products, and special system diagrams.

• Working understanding of low and high voltage AC circuitry, including transformers, fuses, breakers, multi-phase power, etc.

• Understanding of the construction industry, including safety and electrical codes.

• Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to understand and empathetically address issues and perceptions to achieve successful outcomes for customers and employees.

• Clean DMV Record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two-year technical degree in Electronics related studies.

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical, Construction Management, or other related studies.

• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

• Technical experience such as military training or on-the-job training programs.

• Basic use and experience with EST, Honeywell, Bosch, Avigilon, Lenel, Axis, or other Security and Life Safety Equipment.

• Experience with programming.

• Extensive integration support experience for a multitude of building systems.

• Experience with the mechanical and electrical portions of building controls.

• Senior Field Installer and Level 2 Installer should have extensive experience in providing integration support and a deep understanding of the various systems involved in Security and Life Safety.

Essential Job Functions:

• Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.

• Be able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.

• Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.

• Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive on company business.

• Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
