Description\ Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) partner with a BCBA to assist with implementing evidence-based programs for behavioral reduction and skill acquisition. Implementation of all Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by BCBA supervisors. Complete daily documentation and progress updates. Coordinate with BCBA to modify clients BIP. Maintain up-to-date certifications. Uphold HIPAA regulations.

RBTs report to the in-clinic manager for all admin responsibilities as well as training for admin related programs (schedules, Isolved, Ipads etc.). RBTs report to their assigned BCBA for all clinical responsibilities including evals and training for client specific questions or to your trainer for general ABA questions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement 1:1 direct behavioral intervention with clients.
  • Work within the ethical bounds of the RBT code of conduct and scope of practice.
  • Collect data about clients behaviors through direct observation.
  • Assist BCBAs as directed with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.
  • Teach clients the specific behavior skills as described in their treatment plans.
  • Nurture and encourage clients social skills.
  • Communicate with clients family in a professional and kind way about daily progress and difficulties.
  • Maintain on-going documentation of direct services.
  • Maintain professional conduct.
  • Maintain RBT credential by receiving 5% of hours supervised by your BCBA and collect and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with ABA team about progress, needs, support, and RBT credentialing.
  • Create, support, and maintain client dignity for every client.
  • Assist clients in fulfilling and maintaining primary needs.
  • Participate in individual and group meetings.
  • Accept and give feedback about performance.
  • Stay up to date in current ABA practices through training provided.
  • As a mandated reporter, you must report any suspicion of abuse or neglect.
