Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pathology Transcriber is responsible for anatomic pathology transcription and pathology office support. If that is you, come be a part of what makes us great and apply today!

  • Maintains established departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives

  • Establishes and maintains laboratory records, reports, statistics, logs, and files consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g. CAP, DHS, JCAHO, FDA, AABB, CLIA, HCFA and OIG Laboratory Compliance)

  • Performs functions and activities in the office/transcription area of the Anatomic Laboratory

  • Transcribes, copies, distributes, and files pathology reports in a timely manner

  • Receives and follows through on phone requests from physicians and their office staff

What qualifications you will need:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital anatomic pathology transcriptionists and office experience desired

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of commitment to our customers, employees, and community

  • Knowledge of pathology transcription and medical terminology

  • Working knowledge of laboratory information systems

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong oral and writing skills that communicate and motivate effectively

  • Ability to identify and prioritize issues and concerns, generate and analyze feasible solutions, and choose and implement an optimal course of action
