Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for an Analytical Lab Technician position in the Chromatography group of a specialty chemical company in North Houston. The overall responsibility of this role is to conduct routine and non-routine testing related to specialty chemicals in support of manufacturing plants, technical service groups, application development groups, and research groups.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing analyses utilizing IC, HPLC, and GPC

• Performing routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation

• Monitoring and troubleshooting performance of the analytical instrumentation

• Developing and revising liquid chromatography methods

• Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as required

• General laboratory maintenance to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all regulations and policies

Job Requirements:

• AS/BS in Biology or related life science

• 2+ years of experience in an analytical lab

• Experience with sample preparation and analysis utilizing HPLC, GPC, and/or IC instrumentation

• Familiarity with Empower software would be a plus

• Ability to perform basic chemical computations utilizing the mole concept

• Computer proficient, especially with Excel (spreadsheets and charting), Adobe, Word and PowerPoint and willingness and desire to expand these skills further

• LIMS experience will be considered a plus

• Knowledge of statistical (SPC/SQC) techniques is preferred

This is a long term contract assignment with the possibility of being hired by our customer based on business needs and budget. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift.
