Position Description:
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. The Texas Tech University J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, in collaboration with the School of Music is accepting applications for full-time, single academic year nine-month, visiting faculty position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice. The successful candidate will begin service in this full-time position at the beginning of the 2024 fall semester.

The School of Music i s NASM accredited and offers the B.A. in Music, the B.M. in Music with concentrations in Music Education, Composition, Performance, and Theory, the M.M. in Music Education, the M.M. in Music with concentrations in Composition, Conducting, Music Theory, Musicology, Piano Pedagogy, and Performance, the D.M.A. with tracks in Composition, Conducting, Performance, and Piano Pedagogy, the Ph.D. in Music Education, the Ph.D. in Fine Arts with concentrations in Arts Administration, Music Education, Musicology, and Music Theory, the Undergraduate Minor in Music, Undergraduate Certificates in Community Arts Entrepreneurship, Jazz Studies, and World Music, and Graduate Certificates in Early Music Performance Practice, Woodwind Specialty and Piano Pedagogy. Faculty Qualifications:
Terminal degree in voice or closely related discipline.
A record of professional activity and or research that demonstrates emerging recognition in the field of vocal music.
Working knowledge of current practice/pedagogy/theory in vocal technique, vocal pedagogy, singer’s diction, song literature, opera, and musical theatre.
A commitment to quality, student-centered education
Strong evidence of the ability and desire to perform service: duties include, but are not limited to, recruiting, program-building, and commitment to extra-curricular activities of the department, college, and university.
