Union Hospital NURSE PRACTITIONER-PALLIATIVE CARE in TERRE HAUTE, Indiana

The Palliative Care Provider is part of a multidisciplinary team that focuses on improving the quality of life of people with serious, life-limiting illnesses through symptom management, support, and shared medical decision-making. Along with Physicians, Palliative Care Nurses, Social Workers and Chaplains, they help manage patients with high symptom burden, poor quality of life, psychosocial distress, and/or complex advanced care planning needs in the inpatient setting. Nurse Practitioner job details:

Position Details:

  • Full time

  • 40 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday,

  • No Weekends

  • No Call

  • Previous Palliative Care or Hospital Medicine preferred

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conducts physical examinations and preventive health measures as per physician's guidance.

  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to evaluate patient's healthcare needs.

  • Documents findings, formulates treatment plans, and collaborates with healthcare team for comprehensive care.

  • Submits patient healthcare plans for periodic review by physicians.

  • Prescribes medications, recommends therapies, and refers patients to specialists as necessary while ensuring compliance with regulations and professional ethics.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited MSN program

  • Must have Indiana RN license.

  • Must have active APRN/CSR license or be eligible for licenses.\

License/Certification:

  • BLS certification
