Martignetti Companies Payroll Coordinator in Taunton, Massachusetts

Description: Under the direction of the AVP, Payroll and Benefits, responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees (exempt, non-exempt, commissioned, union, and non-union) employees in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare and review all corresponding analytical reports. Manage, monitor, and maintain employee records. Martignetti Companies is the leading distributor of wine and spirits in New England. From our Taunton Office, we process a payroll of approximately 1,700 employees at peak times. We run multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls. We have a mix of pay types, including but not limited to exempt and nonexempt employees, union and non-union, and seasonal/temporary. A portion of our team is on commission-based and/or incentive-based pay plans. This position is eligible to participate in our hybrid work schedule, which includes working in the Taunton office three days per week and remotely two days per week. Essential Job Functions: * Prepare weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes, review new hire information and employee changes; prepare and process file uploads as necessary * Monitor and maintain time sheets and track and post paid time off according to company and union policies * Review weekly and bi-weekly payroll for discrepancies utilizing system reports and Excel spreadsheets * Maintain spreadsheets for sales force commissions * Process contest earnings and expenses * Reconcile payroll both before it is sent for processing and when received * Maintain Excel spreadsheets for union tracking (pension and health and welfare) * Maintain complete and accurate personnel files * Prepare weekly accounting vouchers for vendor payments * Run, review, and analyze reports from Paylocity * Maintain Payroll Policy and Procedures manual * Respond to standard payroll related inquiries from businesses or employees; provide high level customer service; ensure positive interactions * Filing; answering phones; research any discrepancies as needed * Monitor records retention levels for storing/destroying records properly Accountabilities: * Process accurate payroll * Maintain payroll data within Paylocity and various Excel spreadsheets * Process accurate weekly/monthly payroll reports for distribution * Maintain accurate employee files Requirements Education/Training/Experience * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience/training/education preferred * Minimum 2 years\' experience with Payroll Processing software required; Paylocity preferred * Advanced competency in Microsoft Word, Excel (VLOOKUP, Sum if, Nested Formulas, Pivot tables), and Outlook required * Knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, and local tax laws Other Skills/Abilities * Ability to apply union contracts rules as related to payroll processes * Maintain confidentially of payroll data and records * Critical thinking, problem solving, solutions focused * Must be extremely organized and detailed-oriented * Self motivated and able to work on a team, as well as independently * Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to learn/navigate new systems Click MORE INFORMATION for full description.
