GOVERNMENT ANALYST II – 70046397

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office Tallahassee, FL in the Office of health Services – Mental Health.

Salary Rate: $77,454.52 annually

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

This position serves as an integral member of the Mental Health Informatics team that supports the Self-Injury Profiling System (SIPS). The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining and developing the self-injury databases, dashboards, reports, and visualizations of self-injury statistics for OHS. Travel to institutions is required as part of the systems review process of the position.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This individual will assist the SIPS Supervisor in conducting trend analysis related to self-injurious behaviors as well as a full array of other mental health metrics.

  • Building relationships with stakeholders allows for ease of data accessibility that may be housed on both internal and external databases, as well as to troubleshoot issues that may arise.

  • The Suicide and Self-Injury Prevention Analyst provides statistical and analytical support for the Self-Injury Profiling System (SIPS)

  • Is an integral member of the Mental Health Informatics team.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining the self-injury databases, dashboards, reports and visualizations of self-injury statistics in FDC.

  • Aids in the examination of trends with respect to self-injury as well as a full array of other mental health metrics.

  • Involved in all informatics generated for use by OHS-Mental Health.

  • Provides ad hoc analyses as requested.

  • Travel is required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of psychology

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis

  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.

  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.

  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.

  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an educational institution accredited by an accrediting agency or state approval agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in data analysis, data visualization, program planning, program research, or program evaluation.

  • Minimum of 12-months experience working with SQL, Power BI, Qlik or other systems for storing, manipulating, retrieving, or visualizing data from large data systems

  • Must be able to travel.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with Corrections or a similar organization.

  • Familiar with theories or principles of psychology
