Details:

The Recreation Therapist plans, implements, and evaluates services in accordance with a comprehensive assessment to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, as well as individualized needs and interests of patients. Provides direct patient care, which may include evaluating patients, planning, and modifying patient care. Implement treatment interventions based on patient’s assessed needs, abilities, and limitations.

In collaboration with adjunctive therapy staff plans, prepares and conducts psychoeducational and facilitates activity groups. Participates in the developments of patient treatments and treatment plans via the recreational therapist screening and evaluation process in ongoing group interaction. Completes written communication of patient related information in the medical records and to Adjunctive therapy staff for the purpose of comprehensive therapy treatment planning. Participates actively in various clinical staffing's and/or meetings to ensure open communication for maintaining patient quality care. Develops and implements effective communication technique in working with the patient, co-workers, and supervisors.

Patient assessment/treatment: Provides direct patient care as deemed necessary by the clinical coordinator or manager based upon program or patient volume needs. Clarifies and implements physician orders and provides direct care as prescribed by the physician. Recognizes symptoms and establishes priorities consistent with patient's condition. Provides for the physical, cultural, and psychosocial needs of the patient and family. Integrates evidence-based practice and professional standards whenever possible. Serves as a champion for patient safety by continually observing and monitoring the clinical environment and assuring that safety goals and standards are considered when providing care in the practice setting. Provides clinical services including one to one treatment, group treatments, co-treatments with other disciplines and community outings.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, or related degree

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

Other: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), or Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT), or Art Therapist (ATR).

Pay Range: $26.00 - $32.90

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
