SUNY Upstate Medical University Inventory Maintenance Specialist in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary: The Inventory Maintenance Specialist is responsible for inventory maintenance and replenishment of supplies for multiple surgical areas. Will work closely with the surgical teams to establish and adjust par levels to ensure continuous product flow, avoid stock outs and optimize storage space. Duties will include but are not limited to, scanning products to create orders for replenishment, physically receiving and stocking inventory, electronically documenting receipts, assist with coordination and distribution of supplies among the perioperative departments and Sterile Processing Department, serve as secondary source responsible for issuing bone and tissue products directly to OR rooms during ongoing cases as needed throughout the day. Coordinate emergent orders with buyers, manage expiring products. Will function as a liaison between clinical staff and vendors to obtain product information and will maintain current knowledge base of New York State and SUNY procurement rules and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in related field and 2 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to stand, bend, climb and reach. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

Materials inventory experience preferred. Familiarity with Lawson MM software preferred.

Work Days:

7am-3:30pm M-F. Occasional Saturdays based on operational needs.
