Northrop Grumman Principal NWARS Intelligence Operations Controller in Suffolk, Virginia

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal NWARS Intelligence Operations Controller to join our team of diverse professionals supporting our Joint Staff J7 program in Suffolk, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrates Intelligence processes, procedures, and capabilities into the NWARS-NG model & simulator suite of tools.

  • Will perform as a Model Manager executing and monitoring computer program performance during experimentation, testing, and training events.

  • Maintain awareness of the Defense Message System (DMS) processes and the various reporting functions.

  • Maintains and independently modifies as appropriate, the computer program event process and other utility software that may be required for mission support tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 Years of experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; including experience in the intelligence field with emphasis on collection management, collection capabilities, and joint targeting.

  • Experience and background in Intelligence Community, both COCOM and tactical level Intelligence collections planning in support of COCOM and MRX exercises

  • Working knowledge of the intelligence cycle, National and Tactical intelligence collections platforms, capabilities, and procedures, USMTF messages, and an extensive knowledge of intelligence support

  • Willing to temporarily work 12 hours shifts in support of Joint Exercises

  • Have the knowledge of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination processes and applications and supporting technologies.

  • Thorough understanding of Defense Intel Agency (DIA) & Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) process and procedures.

  • Experience with Department of Defense messaging systems such as Defense Message System (DMS) and Exchange E-mail System, other legacy messaging systems (e.g., Automatic Digital Network (AUTODIN), Message Distribution Terminal (MDT), and the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS).

  • Experience in the performance of message generation, re-sectioning, dissemination, release, edit, scrub, un-scrub, delete, create templates, and recall message (ACP-128 (JANAP-128), DOI-103 and DD-173) procedures.

  • Previous experience in SCI level operations. Current eligibility for SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with current theater operations a plus.

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems Management, Computer Systems Analysis, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics or related field; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

  • Knowledge of the various enterprise battle models and simulators (M&S) such as the (Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC), War Simulation (WARSIM), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), and National War-Gaming system Next Generation (NWARS-NG).

Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
