Responsibilities

$1,500 Sign-On Bonus offered for qualified new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible.

Job Summary: Respiratory Therapist II

Provides optimum respiratory care for patients with respiratory disorders and performs therapy as ordered by the physician in accordance with current departmental policies. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages. Acts as relief shift supervisor when required. Maintains department productivity levels by monitoring workloads throughout the shift. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of acute care experience required.

  • Position will be required to supervise and have the ability to work in all critical areas including the NICU.

Education:

  • Graduate of a two year American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy Program.

  • The Therapist must have passed the written Registry Examination and the clinical simulation exam provided by the NBRC and received their RRT credential.

License/ Certifications:

  • Current CA License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

  • RRT Certification from the NBRC.

  • Current BLS-Card from the American Heart Association

  • Must be certified in CPR (may also obtain up to three months after hire)

  • NRP and Stable certification will be required to work in NICU and will be provided after hire.

  • Maintain current license with Respiratory Care Examining Committee

Preferred:

  • Member of American Association of Respiratory Therapists and California Society of Respiratory Therapists preferred but not required.

  • Experience in intubation's (adult pediatric and infant) arterial puncture arterial line draws high frequency ventilation preferred but will train.

  • Experience with nitric oxide use in the NICU preferred but will train.

  • PALS and ACLS highly recommended.

Pay Range

$51.34-$59.77/hour
